Ask-A-Geologist Summer Sessions
Our Ask-A-Geologist program is back!
Stop by the Museum on select Saturdays from 1 pm -3 pm this summer and pick the brain of one of our Friends of the Roger Terhune Geology Club geologists!
Bring your burning geological questions and your mystery rocks and minerals for identification. Explore some of the specimens in the RMDC geology collection, learn about Rossland's amazing geological history, and uncover the incredible stories hidden beneath your feet.
Whether you’re a seasoned rockhounder or just starting out, this drop-in program is a fun way to explore the rocking world of geology, one rock at a time!

We’re thrilled to be taking part in another Rossland Golden City Days weekend of festivities! Downtown, look for our float in the parade and check out our booth at the Fall Fair!
Here at the museum, we'll join the celebrations with special open-by-donation days from 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13th, featuring special crafts, games, scavenger hunts, and gold panning. We'll have guided outdoor tours at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM so you can learn all about our town's golden past... and some of the not-so-shiny bits, too!
Join us on the Museum lawn for live music and lots of fun for the whole family at our annual Arts & Culture Festival! The festival is an opportunity for our region’s local visual and performing artists to showcase their talents to the public as we celebrate the spectacular culture in our area with live music, artist demos, artisan booths, and more. Entry by donation!
We’re thrilled to share that progress continues on our Renewal Project: Phase 2 — the Mine Experience. We’ve been working on this project for a while — so where are we now?
Curious about what our summer students have been up to? Make the Museum part of your Columbia Basin Culture Tour to find out all about it! We'll be open by donation all weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9th, so stop in to learn about the history and culture of Rossland.
Thanks to funding from the Trail & District Arts Council, we have begun rehousing our large textile collection!
