New Year, New Outreach Exhibits!

This January, we're bringing you three new outreach exhibits!

Thrills and Spills: the Rossland Winter Carnival Bobsled Races

Curiosity Clothing and Gifts is once again letting us take over their window for our annual Winter Carnival outreach exhibit. This year, we're exploring one of the most anticipated events of the carnival - the bobsled races! Thrills and Spills will be on display at Curiosity Clothing from January 21th to February 4th.

Learn more about the history of the Rossland Winter Carnival here.

Small Items, Big Stories

The Rossland Public Library is hosting Small Items, Big Stories, an exhibit that explores some of our smallest objects that turn out to have the biggest stories. The artifacts will be changing monthly and we'll be asking you a new question with each change. Up first is Erna Coombes' amazing collections of jugs and pitchers - and we want to know what you collect!

Worlds Apart: Rossland’s Unlikely Partnership with Nyanga, Zimbabwe

You're quickly running out of time to see Worlds Apart: Rossland's Unlikely Partnership with Zimbabwe at the Rossland Prestige! While a smaller version of the exhibit will be installed in our permanent galleries, you only have until Winter Carnival to see the exhibit as it currently is. The next exhibit to be installed at the Prestige is Checking In: Rossland's Historic Hotels.

You may have spotted Frozen Frontier last year at Curiosity Clothing & Gifts, where it made its debut as an outreach exhibit.

Frozen Frontier - Frontière Glacée

Last year's amazing bilingual exhibit Frozen Frontier-Frontière Glacée is coming out of storage and will be on display at the Museum during Winter Carnival weekend (January 25-26). Don’t miss this chance to explore the rich cultural heritage of the French-Canadian influence on the early winter carnivals!
