National Historic Places Day!
Imagine you could travel in time, who would you meet? What would life be like? Discover for yourself! Experience Canada’s history through a historic place.
The Rossland Museum is located on the designated spot for the Kootenay Mining Region National Historic Event.
Open 10am to 6pm; Entry by donation
Join us for fun kids’ activities throughout the day, including a mining scavenger hunt around the property and gold panning demonstrations.
What would you do with $1000, a Parks Canada pass or a VIA Rail travel voucher? The National Trust for Canada is giving away a total of $2000, and over $10,000 in prizes, in support of Historic Places Days.
From July 8th until July 31st, visit a participating historic place and take a selfie or a photo of the place. If you’re not able to visit in person take a digital selfie via historicplacesdays.ca.
To enter the contest, post your masterpiece on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter with #HistoricPlacesDays, tag the historic place, and tag and follow @nationaltrustca. If you’re at a Parks Canada or VIA Rail location be sure to include #ParksCanada and #viarail to show some support to the Historic Places Days partner and major sponsor.
Your photo will be placed in a random draw to win the grand prize of $1000 for yourself and $1000 for the site that you tagged. The draw for the grand prize will take place on August 2, 2022. For more information visit: https://historicplacesdays.ca/contests/
