Gold Fever Follies: A Rossland Tradition Since 1987!

Every summer, the Gold Fever Follies entertain Rossland and visitors from all over the world with a wacky, whimsical – and always enjoyable – musical comedy.

In celebration of the Gold Fever Follies’ 36th year of performing, we have developed a new outreach exhibit at the Prestige Mountain Resort!

Featuring original costumes from the Follies, this exhibit explores the history of one of Rossland's summer staples!

Developed in collaboration with the Gold Fever Follies, this exhibit will be on display at the Prestige Mountain Resort throughout the summer.

History of the follies

Cast of Trapped at the Murphy Inn.

The “Gold Fever Follies” were founded by Ray Furlotte, a local theatre enthusiast, in 1987.  The Follies performed their first show, written by Bev McEwan, on July 12 that year. It featured a number of local actors as well as can-can dancing choreographed by the Boomtown Garter Girls.  It was an overwhelming success, and the Follies’ legacy was ensured!

Today, the Follies continue to perform unique revues based on Rossland’s history.  Many real-life characters frequently appear on stage, such as Olaus Jeldness, Father Pat, and Mrs. Allan.  2023’s production, Trapped at the Murphy Inn, is sure to follow in the Follies’ grand tradition and be the hottest ticket in town!

Trapped at the Murphy Inn runs July & August, 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm, Tuesday-Saturday at the Rossland Miners’ Hall.

OR, visit the Museum this summer for weekly vignettes performed by the Gold Fever Follies — included in our 11:00 am tour every Friday and Saturday!
