Celebrate Canada at the Rossland Museum

The last half of June 2024 is jam-packed with events, activities, and ideas to celebrate in the lead-up to Canada Day! The Rossland Museum will be open with free/by donation entry on each of the Celebrate Canada Days: National Indigenous People’s Day, St Jean Baptiste Day, National Multiculturalism Day, and Canada Day!

National Indigenous People's Day: June 21

Drop by the Museum - we're open by donation all day! Check out our discovery kit about Indigenous basketry of the region, listen to recordings of oral history stories from Sinixt knowledge-keepers, and watch our new short film, Learning mxiɬp.

St Jean Baptiste Day: June 24

Join us at the Museum - we’ll be open by donation from 10 am to 6 pm - with themed crafts all day!

National Multiculturalism Day: June 27

We'll be open by donation all day with some special displays featuring the history and historical wrongs experienced by Chinese Canadians, voting rights and suffrage, Indigenous basketry of the region, and more. Check out our temporary art exhibit "From the Vault" and contribute to our community art wall!

Canada Day: July 1

Mark your calendars for another amazing celebration! We are once again hosting Rossland's Canada Day celebrations at the Museum. We'll be open with an amazing line-up of activities, ceremony, cake, and live music from 11 am to 4 pm. Check out our games and activities, grab some tacos, hot dogs, and a cold drink, and settle down to enjoy the show. The ceremony starts at 12 noon, but the bouncy castle will open at 11, so don't wait! Entry by donation. This event is funded in part by the Government of Canada, Teck Trail Operations, and Tourism Rossland.

Our Celebrate Canada events are supported in part by the Government of Canada.
