April Speaker Series with Aerin Bowers: Swimming the English Channel

At 2:30 am on June 29th, 2025, Rosslander Aerin Bowers set out to swim the English Channel. Sixteen hours and 33 minutes later, she walked onto a beach in France. The marathon feat was a culmination of a dream — and years of training. Come out to the Museum at 6 pm on Thursday, April 23rd, to hear the whole story, from training and logistical challenges to battling tides and encounters with jellyfish!

About Aerin Bowers
Aerin Bowers is an open water swimmer based in Rossland, BC, known for taking on long-distance endurance challenges in lakes and oceans, including a successful English Channel crossing in 2025. Aerin brings a unique perspective on resilience, mindset, and performing under pressure.
Through her swimming, Aerin explores the intersection of physical endurance and mental strength, and shares lessons on pushing beyond perceived limits, staying grounded through uncertainty, and finding clarity in discomfort. She believes that the water has a way of stripping things down to what really matters.
