Celebrate Canada Day at the Rossland Museum with games, food, activities, beer garden, live music, and more.

Saturday, July 1st, from 11 am to 9 pm

The celebration starts at 11 am with music, kids’ fitness on the lawn, vendors, and food! Festivities will officially kick off at 1 pm with a Welcome to the tmxʷúlaʔxʷ (homeland) from Autonomous Sinixt Elder and Smum Iem Matriarch Marilyn James, followed by a performance of “O Canada” by the Gold Fever Follies and an address from Mayor Andy Morel.

The Museum lawn is the place to be all day!

This is a fully licensed event in partnership with The Flying Steamshovel from 11 am to 8:30 pm. The Rossland Golden City Lions Club will be cooking up hot dogs and sausages for sale throughout the afternoon, Delicious Baby will be selling Happy Ice Pops, and we’ll have live music and performances all day long.

We’ll have all sorts of presenters and vendors setting up on the Museum lawn from 11 am to 4 pm, including WildSafeBC Rossland/Trail, West Kootenay Climate Hub, the Autonomous Sinixt, the City of Rossland’s Heritage Commission, and more! Not only that, the City of Rossland’s Public Works Department will be hosting the ever-popular Touch-a-Truck - so come on out for a hands-on experience with a great big truck!

Want to bike to or from the Museum?

Kootenay Mountain Biking is offering bike shuttles!

  • Warfield Shuttle | every 30 mins between 11 am and 1 pm | drop off at the Museum | $5 per person

  • Mxiɬp Trail Shuttle | 2 pm from the Museum | drop off at Little Rock Trailhead, Biathlon or 100 Acre Wood | $10 per person

Rossland Mayor Andy Morel will be serving cake and cookies following the 1 pm ceremony.

The Autonomous Sinixt will be leading a Snslxcin Language Workshop at 2:30 pm.


Entry is free, though donations are always welcome.

IMPORTANT NOTE

We will not be presenting a fireworks show at the end of the night this year.
