National Historic Places Day
Imagine you could travel in time, who would you meet? What would life be like? Discover for yourself! Experience Canada’s history through an historic place.
The Rossland Museum is located on the designated spot for the Kootenay Mining Region National Historic Event.
Open 10am to 6pm; Entry by donation.
Join us for fun kids activities throughout the day, including a mining scavenger hunt around the property.
Outdoor Tours at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
(NOTE: Gold Panning & Kids Discovery Zone remain closed)
National Trust for Canada / Fiducie nationale du Canada Contest 1:
From July 4th until July 31st, National Trust is encouraging digital selfies if you can't make it to the sites this year. Take a selfie at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre or if you can't make it to the site, use the button featured on the online “Places” page on historicplacesday.ca. To enter the contest, post your masterpiece on social media with #historicplacesday, tag the historic place, and tag and follow @nationaltrustca. Your selfie will be placed in a random draw to win $1000 for yourself and $1000 for the site that you tagged! You can post one selfie per day.
Post your photo on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. In posting, you give the National Trust for Canada permission to use your content in promotional material (social media, website, print, etc).

Contest 2: Do you have a favourite Canadian historic place?
Submit a photograph you took of a historic place and what it means to you to be entered to win one of 50 prizes from VIA Rail, National Geographic, The Walrus, and more!
The contest starts on July 4th and runs till July 31st, 2020. We will begin drawing prizes on July 13th.
