Suggestions for July 1 - Canada Day

The ongoing confirmation of unmarked burial sites of children’s remains at the sites of former residential schools in British Columbia and across Canada has prompted a national pause to reflect, learn more about, and support Indigenous communities across the country. The road to reconciliation is long, and there is so much work to be done, and therefore, Museum staff have agreed that it's more appropriate this year to create respectful space instead of filling the sky with celebratory fireworks.

The next presentation in the RMDC Virtual Speaker Series is “Queen of the Downhill” Cindy Devine! Join world champion mountain biker, Cindy Devine, on May 19, 2021, live on Zoom as she reflects on her journey to becoming a world-class athlete. She'll talk about how her active childhood set her up well to become a world champion, the ways that mountain biking has changed over her years in the sport, and her experience of being a female racer in the early mountain biking scene in North America. Cindy is a living legend, and we're lucky that she's chosen Rossland as her home!
