Rekindle the Spirit of Christmas

It's that time of year again! We're excited to see Rekindle taking over Rossland again this Saturday, December 4th.
Here at the Museum, we'll be participating with a super-special holiday-themed STEAM activity: sleigh engineering! Drop by the Museum between 2 pm and 4 pm to take part in the activity. Prizes going to the sleigh that flies the farthest!
Stop in for some holiday treats and hot chocolate and soak up the spirit of Christmas - open 10-5pm by donation!

Veterans Week 2021 at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre

This year marks the 102nd observance of a day of remembrance. The first occurred in 1919, one year after the hostilities of the First World War ended. A mere 21 years later, the world would be thrown into chaos once again as World War II was declared on 1 September 1939. Rosslanders made up over 600 of the 1.6 million Canadians that served in these two global conflicts. Countless more would volunteer at home, contributing however they could. This ranged from rationing, to salvage committees, to helping with the local A.R.P. (air raid precautions) chapter.

The Community Engagement Manager develops, manages, and evaluates our public programming and events covering various themes (history, science, art, etc.), and managing staff and volunteers associated with these. The manager works with local schools/groups and other community organizations and members to develop responsive and supportive programs for various audiences (Toddlers, Youth, Teens, Adults, Seniors, etc.) and underrepresented demographics.
